About Kitty Brown Boutique

Our shop is in Carnforth in North Lancashire a few miles north of Lancaster and just south of the border with Cumbria.

The business was founded by Jenny Wheeler and Caroline Charnley, two friends who met while working for Great Universal Stores in Bolton. We opened our first shop on Carnforth Railway Station in 2008. It was very small and away from most of the shops in Carnforth and called Town and Country Fashions.

We moved into the centre of town to a bigger shop in 2012. It allowed us to expand our range of brands and the variety of our stock. About a year later the name was changed to Kitty Brown Boutique.

In 2016 Jenny retired from the business. Caroline recruited her husband Philip to do the behind the scenes work and also Trueman to help in the shop. She is the current Assistant Retail Manager.

In 2018 our neighbours Rowan Tree Crafts closed and we took the opportunity to turn the two shops into one. We then moved into shoes, sandals and boots. We also expanded our range of outdoor coats and bags.

Today we are open from 10 until 5 Monday to Saturday except public holidays.

We stock leading clothing brands such as Seasalt Cornwall, Adini, Lily & Me, Nomads, Weird Fish and many more often small more exclusive labels.

Amongst our shoes and boots you will find Birkenstock, Rieker, Lunar, Fly London, Adesso and others.

We have a comprehensive range of scarves, bags, jewellery and essential extras.
